Sustainable Palm Oil Alternatives Gain Traction in Soap and Candle Industries
Palm oil has long been favored for its hardness and creamy lather in soap, but environmental groups highlight its link to rainforest destruction. Some innovative formulations use avocado oil or rice bran oil to achieve similar textures. Certification schemes like RSPO are becoming more common, though some artisans prefer completely palm‑free labels to simplify messaging.
